National Chili Month

October 11, 2011

October is National Chili Month and what a perfect time of year to celebrate a food to warm the body and soul! And as if that isn’t enough, chili can be your bottom line’s best friend. Here are just a few ways to celebrate:

  1. Create a new chili recipe: Start with a base like Chili with Beans (or without beans if you prefer) and create a chili special for the month of October.
  2. Let the customer create their own chili: Have a create-your-own station with your base chili using the Vanee Chili Kit and allow the customer to jazz it up with their preference of ground meat, vegetables, spices or shots of their favorite hot sauce.
  3. Find creative ways to serve chili: Over pasta, with corn chips on top, inside a baked potato with sour cream and cheese, over fries, in an omelet, hollow out a bread roll and serve it inside, on chili nachos.

Americans love to eat and make chili. Ask someone for their chili recipe, and chances are you will get a different recipe from every person. It all comes down to how you like to dress it up. Here are a few of our favorite chili recipes:

Don’t forget to promote National Chili Month with table tents, menu inserts, point-of-purchase signs and using social media! For assistance with creating a chili special for the month of October and how to merchandise it, contact Vanee!
